Yesterday the fourth and final NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH) was delivered to the Belgian Ministry of Defence during a ceremony in Marignane, France, where the helicopter was built.
The helicopter will be based at the Beauvechain Air Base in Belgium, home of the 1st Wing. It will be used for tactical transport and utility missions.
In attendance was Lt General Clement, Belguim’s General Director of Material and Resources.
“The delivery of this final NH90 TTH is the result of a very good cooperation between industry and Belgian Defence. From now on, NHI and its partner companies will work together to make sure the NH90 remains at the level of excellence demanded by its crews throughout its service life,” said Vincent Dubrule, President of NHIndustries.
For this special event, two previously delivered Belgian NH90 TTHs landed in Marignane in the morning to be present for the delivery of the newest member of their fleet. After the ceremony, the three helicopters took off together and headed towards their base in Beauvechain.
Belgium has ordered eight NH90s: four NH90 TTH for army transport missions and four NH90 NFHs for Navy missions.
