Aiut Alpin Dolomites receives first EC135 T3/P3

29 October 2014

In a delivery ceremony held at Airbus Helicopters in Germany, Airbus Helicopters handed over the first aircraft of this new version of the EC135 family.

Launch customer Aiut Alpin Dolomites is a mountain rescue operator in Italy already operating an EC135.

“The increased performance of the EC135 T3/P3 will bring additional power reserves, which gives us a higher safety margin. This is crucial for our mountain rescue missions where we sometimes operate in harsh conditions” said Raffael Kostner, founder of Aiut Alpin Dolomites.

The rotorcraft will start its operations in December 2014 at its base in Pontives near the city of Trento.

The EC135 is the preferred choice for rescue missions around the world and mainly used for primary missions. More than 500 EC135 are operating in emergency medical services (EMS).
