Adopting a comprehensive approach to ethics, compliance and transparency is an important part of Airbus Helicopters’ commitment to being a responsible global citizen. Since its early days, the company has adopted demanding policies and rules governing all of its international trade activities, continuously improved and reinforced in keeping with the highest industry standards of ethics and compliance. In 2008, the company reviewed and subsequently updated its approach to ethics and compliance through the establishment of a compliance organization.

The Airbus Helicopters Compliance Organization

Airbus Helicopters established a compliance organization made up of compliance experts within sites and across business functions to help carry out the principles laid out in company’s Ethics & Compliance Programme and in the Standards of Business Conduct.

The mission of the compliance organization is to monitor the conformance of the company’s activities to the applicable rules and regulations adopted by Airbus Group and to ensure that individual behavior is in line with the Group’s commitments. It also ensures that these policies and guidelines are communicated and that employees are trained, in order to raise awareness and to promote compliance as a corporate culture.

The success of the compliance organization depends upon achieving the right balance between independence and proximity to the business. For that reason, a double reporting principle is applied at all levels of the company, meaning that compliance experts report to both the compliance hierarchy and their operational hierarchy.

The Airbus Group Ethics & Compliance Programme

The Airbus Group Ethics & Compliance Programme, adopted by Airbus Helicopters, seeks to ensure that the Group’s business practices conform to applicable laws, regulations and ethical business principles, and foster a culture of integrity. Such a culture helps to sustain the Group’s global competitiveness.
