Introduction

From corporate shuttle and air taxi service, to fast turn-around tourism flights and highly-demanding offshore oil & gas duties, Airbus helicopters respond to all requirements of commercial air transport operations. Customers of any size – from single-aircraft owners to operators with sizable fleets – can rely on the company's worldwide network of service centers for guidance, training and support.

Aircraft

Light helicopters

Airbus Helicopters’ range begins with its lightweight single- and twin-engine product lines – composed of the H120, along with the Ecureuil/AStar family’s H125 and H130. As highly cost-effective rotorcraft, they offer a turbine-smooth environment and quiet rides, along with unmatched visibility for passengers and open-space cabins that enhance comfort and facilitate loading/unloading.

The twin-engine H135 and H145 have large cabins with flat floors, providing flexibility in seating arrangements and the creation of high-end interiors to satisfy the most discerning travelers. Both rotorcraft have high-set main and tail rotors for facilitated access, while their compact airframes allow landings and takeoffs from small landing zones – opening up opportunities for passengers to arrive where they want to go, from urban areas and city heliports, to super yachts and off-shore oil & gas platforms.

Medium helicopters

In the medium-weight category, the Dauphin family is recognized worldwide for its exceptional roominess, comfort, endurance and efficiency. These twin-engine helicopters can operate within the most crowded airport environments, where their high speeds permit easy integration with fixed-wing traffic during landing approach and departure.

Airbus Helicopters’ new-generation H175 was created to meet evolving missions of the oil & gas industry and commercial transport providers, offering outstanding performance and unmatched cost efficiency in its seven-metric-ton weight category. Speed, comfort and cutting-edge technology make the twin-engine H175 a true business asset for any company in executive transportation, while the most spacious cabin in its class creates an unparalleled flight environment aboard VIP and executive-configured H175s – which offers separate seating zones to indulge passengers from takeoff to landing.

Heavy helicopters

The family of heavy-weight Super Puma helicopters are the choice for oil & gas industry airlift operations, serving as workhorse rotorcraft in the most challenging conditions. Their two powerful engines and robust rotor blade systems give these machines the power for high payloads, long ranges and fast cruise speeds, along with extended flight endurance. Various seating arrangements are possible in the very large cabin, while comfort is assured with low vibration and sound levels that give passengers the impression of flying in a commercial jetliner.

Missions

Tourism

Airbus Helicopters make tourists’ dreams come true, offering aerial viewpoints for some of Earth’s natural and man-made wonders – including the U.S. Hawaiian Islands and Grand Canyon; at national parks and reserves around the globe; and over such cities as Paris, New York and Las Vegas.

The single-engine Ecureuil/AStar family has been the go-to rotorcraft for professional tour operations since the 1980s, favored due to its smooth ride for optimum comfort of five-to-six passengers who enjoy low external noise and vibration levels.

Building on its experience with tour operators, Airbus Helicopters developed the H130, which set a new benchmark by providing an open cabin design and more than 65 square feet of glass that affords a 180-degree sweeping view. The H130 offers significantly greater personal space for its seven passengers, enabling individual first class-type seating. Earning its “Eco-Star” nickname, the H130’s environmentally-friendly low noise signature is further improved by the use of Airbus Helicopters’ Fenestron® shrouded tail rotor system.

Tour companies with Airbus Helicopters-built fleets include two U.S. operators of reference: Blue Hawaiian (flying the AS350 and H130) in the Hawaiian Islands, and Sundance Helicopters, based in Las Vegas, Nevada (operating H130s); as well as Réunion Island’s Corail Hélicoptères (with H130s) and Nepal’s Shree Airlines (AS350s and H130s).

Corporate shuttle and VIP

With their smooth rides and comfortable interiors, Airbus Helicopters’ rotorcraft are preferred by corporations, leasing companies and VIP service providers.

Exclusive Aircraft Sales Ltd. offers leasing arrangements for the H155, which accommodates eight passengers in VIP luxury, and the H135, which seats six-to-seven passengers in a corporate shuttle cabin arrangement and five persons in a VIP layout.

U.S.-based Corporate Helicopters of California flies the H155 customized for corporate and VIP missions, while South Africa’s ExecuJet Aviation Group deploys the EC130 B4 from a base at Lanseria Airport.

Airbus Helicopters offers high-end enhancement packages, beginning with the Stylence definition that combines style and silence for fully-equipped in-flight offices on the H125, H120, H130 and the latest H145 Stylence version – sold to customers in Brazil, France, Germany, India and Luxembourg.

The H135 “l’Hélicoptère par Hermès” configuration incorporates the savoir-faire of luxury goods manufacturer Hermès in a redesigned cabin where aesthetic choices are combined with a functional improvement. This includes the optimized use of fabrics and leathers to soften ambient noise and vibration and the incorporation of a sliding glass partition to separate the passenger compartment from the cockpit.

Customers for the H135 “l’Hélicoptère par Hermès” include Falcon Aviation Services (FAS), an aviation helicopter charter and associated services provider in the United Arab Emirates and Gulf regions; Japan’s Narita Heli Direct; and U.K.-based European corporate helicopter charter specialist Capital Air Services Ltd.

Another high-end configurations is the H145 Mercedes-Benz Style, developed in cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio, and featuring an interior inspired by the automaker’s range of high-end vehicles. The cabin incorporates deluxe materials, elegant woods and ambient cabin lighting, along with multi-function boxes. German commercial helicopter operator Meravo utilizes the H145 Mercedes-Benz Style helicopter for business and private travelers, offering charter and corporate flights for up to eight passengers.

Airbus Helicopters’ 7-metric-ton H175, has the most spacious cabin in its class, accommodating nine-to-12 passengers in executive configurations with club seating layouts – complemented by a large luggage compartment accessible from inside the cabin, wide sliding doors, and low vibration levels whatever the cruise speed. High-end VIP and executive H175 versions with three different harmonies are available through the creativity of Pegasus Design’s Peder Thaulow Eidsgaard.
