VIDEO: Paris Air Show Day 1 highlights

15 June 2015

The Airbus Helicopters static display at the Airbus Group pavilion saw a number of visitors throughout the day, most notably French President, François Hollande; French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy, Ségolène Royal; German Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Brigitte Zypries; and the President of Gabon, Ali Bongo.

Taking center stage during these visits and others were Airbus’ military bestseller the H225M, and the full-scale models of the new H145M and the new medium H160.

Among the major announcements of the day was Milestone Aviation’s decision to increase its combined orders and options of the H175 to a total of 28 aircraft, the largest order to date for Airbus’ new super-medium-lift twin-engine rotorcraft.

“We have full confidence in the Airbus Helicopters’ leadership team and are delighted to expand our relationship with the introduction of the H175 to our fleet,” said Richard Santulli, Milestone’s Chairman. “The H175 is well-aligned with our commitment to offering the most innovative product solutions for our customers.”

Earlier in the day, PT Dirgantara Indonesia ordered two AS365 N3+ Dauphin helicopters to perform search and rescue missions.

“We are very familiar with the Dauphin platform and are confident that with the installation of dedicated SAR equipment, we will offer the right solution to the Indonesian Government for its SAR demands,” said PTDI’s President Director Budi Santoso during the signature ceremony.
