Helitech 2014: Airbus Helicopters' Day 1 Recap

14 October 2014

Airbus Helicopters is putting its product enhancements and service solution improvements for customers on the front row at this year’s Helitech International air show, taking place from October 14-16 in Amsterdam.

Alongside the new EC130 T2 and EC145 T2 versions on display, Airbus Helicopters dedicated a special section of the stand to Support & Services and the  clear commitments the company is making for customers in this area.

On Tuesday morning, Airbus Helicopters President & CEO Guillaume Faury spoke about the challenges and opportunities in the rotorcraft supply chain during the Industry Business Leader’s Forum. He highlighted the vision of building a joint action plan between suppliers and OEMs and working closer as partners to ensure that the industry –  together – can keep customers flying.

Dominique Maudet, executive vice president of Global Business and Services, Matthieu Louvot, senior vice president of Support & Services and Thomas Hein, head of Western Europe, participated in a press event, presenting Airbus Helicopters’ transformation, its current situation, its main support and services improvements, and concrete examples of how the company is improving the satisfaction of its customers around the globe.

Major services improvements announced at the show included an extended Secured Standard Exchange policy, offering customers the possibility of immediately exchanging a part needing repair or overhaul with another serviceable part. The second initiative is a Secured Turnaround Time (TAT) service of 45 days for equipment repair and overhaul – easing customer maintenance operations, reducing downtime and providing better predictability.

Airbus Helicopters also celebrated its receipt of the Outstanding Supplier Award from Erickson Helicopters, who recognized the exceptional customer support provided by Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters Inc. and Vector Aerospace.

“The strong relationship we have with Airbus Helicopters is crucial to meeting our company’s objectives as well as our own customers’ needs,” said Andrew Warren, Supplier Chain Manager at Erickson Helicopters.  “We look forward to further enhancing our business activities in the future.”
