Tusas Aerospace Industries (TAI) from Turkey and EUROCOPTER Extend their Cooperation in the Super Puma / Cougar Helicopter Family

TAI’s General Manager, Mr Oktay TEZSEZEN, and EC’s C.E.O, Mr Fabrice BREGIER, have signed on July 13, 2004 a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in order to extend their cooperation on Super Puma / Cougar aerostructures production.

The objective is to consolidate TAI as a Centre of Excellence being at term the sole source for Super Puma / Cougar and EC225 / 725 helicopters for complete structures for Eurocopter world-wide needs. Within the Phenix 2 Contract (30 Cougar AS532) and the EUROTAI Consortium, TAI already manufactured major sub-assemblies for this Programme (complete fuselage, tail boom, canopy, cargo floors, sliding cowlings and engine cowlings).

Besides, TAI also assembled 28 Cougar helicopters out of 30 in their plant.

One of the highlights of the existing partnership was the delivery on March 15, 2004 of the first complete mated Cougar structure at Eurocopter plant. Eurocopter welcomes this evolution which will establish TAI as a major long term member of its global supply chain.

Eurocopter is a wholly-owned subsidiary of EADS. EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services.
