Two SUPER PUMA AS 332 L1 and two Dauphin AS 365 N3 for the HELI-UNION operator
After signing a contract in Paris in 2003 for two AS 332 L1 Super Puma, in February 2004 Eurocopter and the French operator HELI-UNION signed a contract for the supply of 2 AS 365 N3 Dauphin helicopters.
HELI-UNION, who have been a landmark company in the world oil industry for over 40 years, have therefore confirmed their choice of helicopters from the EUROCOPTER range to extend and renew their fleet.
With their new order, which will increase the total number of AS 365 N3 Dauphins owned by HELI-UNION to 5, the company confirms its decision taken over 25 years ago to structure their fleet of medium-tonnage helicopters around the EUROCOPTER Dauphin range.
The power reserve of the AS 365 N3 (2 Turbomeca Arriel 2C) is particularly suited to operations in hot zones for offshore liaison assignments. The flexible and reliable deployment of HELI-UNION in a demanding environment is constant proof that the equipment is extraordinarily reliable and easy to maintain in zones reputed to be difficult.
The two AS 365 N3 Dauphins will be the first helicopters in this category to be equipped with an HUMS (Health & Usage Monitoring System).
For all helicopters over 4.3 tones, EUROCOPTER now propose a range that includes HUMS as an option, thereby making them totally suitable for the operational requirements of offshore assignments. A new generation of modular equipment is now available in the Dauphin / EC 155B / EC 155B1 and L2 / EC225 Super Puma ranges. Because the on-board and ground-support equipment are common, implementation under operation conditions are simplified and thereby reinforce safety.
HELI-UNION have long had a presence on the South-American, Asian, African and European continents. The purchase of their first two SUPER-PUMA marks the beginning of a new era. Their choice confirms Super-Puma as the reference helicopter in the offshore sector. By 1 January 2004, 104 Super-Puma had clocked up a total of 1,600,000 flight hours in this market segment.
With their fleet of 35 helicopters, HELI-UNION have totaled over 1,000,000 flight hours spent in total comfort. Their purchases of new helicopters place them in a privileged position compared to other operators in the on-shore and off-shore oil and gas industries.
